I should probably get someone to check my math, but if I wait around I'd forget to post it.
So, right now we are working on the evolution of pets, within the game. Originally this was just "It'd be fun to have a different evolution system than the norm" and that was ok. Just today, we started actually sitting down and figuring out what this meant for the game.*
So, we started by breaking down potential pet types into 5 core groups, based on the existing animal groups with some modifications. That's not to bad, with 5 base (past your first one that is) creatures we worked out that there would be around 120 potential permutations of creature possible. That doesn't sound bad at all, a nice number and an acceptable scope for full production.
But, you know, just having 5 isn't really enough for diversity now is it? So, what if we had Two of each type? That doesn't sound too bad, but oh wait. That means, there would be something on the order of three million different combinations possible.
That's some scope...
Just the thought of realizing that in art is frightening, and it would make development far less than awesome.
That said, more work needs to be put into how the pets work out. Something told me to just start with the Machines.

The things that I'm bad at.
One thing, that I am very bad at is keeping blogs (and generally any public thing outside of my twitter) adequately updated. Because of that, ProjectANI will be seeking a community manager very shortly. If you happen to be interested in this position (Managing our soon-to-exist forum, posting blog updates with the content that we give you and keeping in touch with the community in general) Shoot me an email at Contact [at] Corostudio.com
Unfortunately, unlike the rest of our offers, this is a voluntary one. Although, I entirely expect it to be a paid position sometime in the not-to-distant future.
Anyway, back to making up for not posting a
What is ProjectANI?
I've been putting this off for awhile now, but no more!
What is ProjectANI?
I'm happy that you've asked. ProjectANI is a 3D Virtual Pets game because it is intended to run on a website I am tempeted to draw parallels to sites such as Neopets but in reality it's quite a bit different.
ProjectANI was primarily influenced by Pokemon, Digimon, and Monster Rancher (there are a few other influences in there like the Chao Garden from sonic and Tamagotchi pets but mostly those.). So like those games, you play as a creature journeying the world while training a virtual pet of your choice (well, it's more like creation in our case).
Anyway, I suppo
